Terms & Conditions

Draft template pending qualified legal review — not yet reviewed by a lawyer, and placeholders (e.g. company legal name, registration number, registered address, governing jurisdiction) still need to be filled in before this is published live to real users.
1. What MyLegacyLiveson is
MyLegacyLiveson ("the Service", "we", "us") is an estate-readiness planning and digital legacy platform. It helps you track what estate-related steps are outstanding, where important documents and accounts are located, and lets you leave a personal story and pointer information for your next of kin. The Service is a planning and organizational tool — it is not a law firm, does not prepare legal documents, and does not provide legal or financial advice.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use — what not to store
Do not enter passwords, PINs, full ID/social security numbers, or other credential-shaped data into notes or pointer fields — the Service is a pointer/advisor system, not a password vault, and actively rejects credential-shaped input where it can. Do not use the Service to store or share unlawful content.
4. The check-in / release mechanism
The Service includes a configurable periodic check-in ("dead man's switch"). If you miss scheduled check-ins through a multi-stage escalation (grace period, then verifier confirmation, then a cooling-off period), designated next of kin may be given access to the outstanding-items summary and any content you've chosen to share with them. You control the timing of every stage within the bounds the Service offers, and you can cancel a release during the cooling-off period by signing back in.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Some features require a paid plan. Paid plans, pricing, and billing terms (including cancellation and refunds) will be set out at checkout. The death-notification release feature itself is never paywalled — next of kin still receive the release package even if a paid plan has lapsed.
6. No legal or financial advice
Country-specific checklist guidance is general information based on publicly available knowledge, not a substitute for advice from a qualified estate lawyer or financial advisor in your jurisdiction. Every checklist, roadmap export, and AI onboarding conversation carries this same caveat.
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
8. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Company Legal Name] is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including reliance on checklist content or delays/failures in the check-in or release mechanism.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction].
